FCC Beats 5G Infrastructure Challenges At 9th Circ.
Law360 (August 12, 2020, 2:16 PM EDT) — The Ninth Circuit on Wednesday mostly validated three of the Federal Communications Commission’s major moves to speed up and standardize the installation of 5G small cells on the local level.
The panel found that a trio of 2018 decisions, challenged by local governments, utilities and internet service providers, were an appropriate use of the FCC’s authority.
In a statement, FCC Chairman Ajit Pai praised the ruling as “a massive victory for U.S. leadership in 5G, our nation’s economy, and American consumers.”
