CBP Contractors To Pay $2.4M in Back Wages, Benefits

Law360 (August 12, 2020, 8:58 PM EDT) — Two Los Angeles-area companies that have contracts with Customs and Border Protection to inspect cargo will pay about $2.4 million to make up for unpaid wages and fringe benefits for 959 employees, the Labor Department said Wednesday.

A Wage and Hour Division investigation found that Price Transfer Inc. and FCL Logistics LLC didn’t include provisions in their contracts with subcontractors that addressed prevailing wages required by the McNamara-O’Hara Service Contract Act, the DOL said.
