For Trump’s Trial Court Picks, It May Be Now Or Never
Law360 (July 16, 2020, 6:24 PM EDT) — After filling every vacancy on the federal appeals courts, Republicans are now racing against the clock to confirm more of President Donald Trump’s picks for the district courts, where more than 10% of seats remain empty.
Experts say the U.S. Senate could confirm several dozen more nominees this year as Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., pursues his vow to “leave no vacancy behind” after filling the appeals courts for the first time in at least 40 years.
