Ga. Class Rep In CR-V Suit Agreed To Arbitration, Honda Says

Law360 (March 3, 2020, 5:23 PM EST) — Honda has asked a New York federal judge to scuttle a proposed Georgia state class in a suit alleging that it sold CR-Vs with defective crash-detecting systems, saying a named plaintiff representing Georgia purchasers and lessees agreed to arbitration in his lease.

Andrew Paltarak, the proposed class representative for Georgia 2018 CR-V owners and lessees, agreed to arbitrate all disputes related to the vehicle’s performance and warranties when he signed a lease agreement and declined to opt out of an arbitration clause, American Honda Motor Co. told the court Monday.
